First Bloom In the city Athens, there lived a poor couple. Though they were poor, they were not the least bit unhappy, for they had a beautiful baby girl. She had soft cream-colored skin, bright blue, sapphire-like eyes, her golden curls were like the softest of silk, her cheeks had a hint of pink, and her face was like a full moon, radiantly glowing. Even though they were one of the poorest in Athens, maybe in all of Greece, they felt blessed that they had such a beautiful daughter.
